Our FAQ

Our FAQ

  • How should I dress for the visit?

You must wear flat shoes that cover the whole foot (for example, trainers or hiking shoes – ballerina flats and moccasins are forbidden) that protect the instep. If these conditions are not met, you may be refused access to the site. As the visit is conducted wholly on foot and lasts 2 hours, it is preferable to wear comfortable shoes.

  • What equipment is provided on site?

You will be equipped with a helmet and a reflective vest for safety reasons. At Génissiat, you will also have headphones so you can hear the guide’s commentary. At Génissiat and Bollène, handbags and rucksacks, cell phones and laptop computers, cameras, dictaphones and all dangerous objects are forbidden during the visit. Lockers are available at each of these sites for you to safely store your non bulky objects. Cases and large rucksacks cannot be left in the cloakrooms. Small rucksacks are accepted on the wind farm and solar power plant sites, as no cloakroom is available on these sites.

  • What should I bring on the day of the visit?

To participate in the visit, adults must provide valid proof of identity (identity card or passport). As the tickets are nominative, the identity of the participants will be checked before each visit. You will be refused entry if no proof of identity is presented. For the wind farms and solar power plants, remember to bring a flask or bottle of water in the case of hot weather.

  • Are the visits accessible for children?

Yes, for children of 8 years old and older. Responsible behaviour is necessary as the visit is conducted close to industrial installations.

  • How many people can visit at the same time?

The visits are limited to small groups (15 to 20 people) to ensure the safety of each visitor and the good quality of the visit. For groups exceeding 20 people, the conditions of the visit will be arranged between CNR and the organiser. For the wind farm and solar power plant sites, visits are limited to groups of 30 people in order to ensure the safety of each visitor and the good quality of the visit. Groups of children must be accompanied by one adult for 8 children.

  • Can I take photos or videos during the visit?

Taking photos and videos inside the hydroelectricity plants is forbidden, in order to protect the industrial property of CNR. Taking photos is allowed at the wind farm and solar power sites. Nonetheless, photos in which CNR’s guides appear must be taken with the permission of the guides beforehand.

  • What is the level of accessibility of the sites?

All the spaces visited are accessible to reduced mobility persons. We remind you that the visit of 2h is conducted exclusively on foot and that it requires moving about with ease, especially at Génissiat where a monumental stairway of a hundred steps is an integral part of the visit. For security reasons, our wind farm and solar power sites are not accessible to reduced mobility persons. Pushchairs are forbidden for all visits.

  • Can the visit be made if I am equipped with a pacemaker?

Persons equipped with a pacemaker or defibrillator are advised against approaching electromagnetic fields. Therefore they are advised against visiting the dam-hydropower plant of Génissiat.

  • Can I cancel my inscription or change the time slot I reserved on the internet site?

The choice of day and time is definitive. As requests are numerous, once you have enrolled, you can no longer change the date or time of the visit on the internet site. For organisational reasons, your place is guaranteed for the slot chosen. If you have already enrolled but can no longer come, please inform us by email using the contact form. The number of places is limited for safety reasons. By cancelling your visit you will leave your place for another person interested by the visit.

  • Is it possible to enrol several people when reserving?

Yes, you can enrol up to 8 people when reserving. To do this, you simply enrol the participants one by one in the fields provided for this purpose in the enrolment form. Caution, valid proof of identity on the day of the visit is required for each adult visitor. One by group is not sufficient!

  • Can a visit be cancelled?

Visits can be suspended without notice for reasons of public order if demanded by the authorities. This may also be the case fpr maintenance or major maintenance works. Please refer to our general sales conditions to know the conditions of reimbursement.
