A production site between wind and sun
The site of Le Pouzin, located in the Rhone Valley between Valence and Montélimar, is composed of two solar power plants and a wind farm.
It produces enough electricity to supply 11,800 households. Look at the two wind turbines that reach 125 metres into the sky, with masts 85 metres high and blades 45 metres long. Then look at the ground to see more than 50,000 photovoltaic panels for capturing the sunshine, a spectacle stretching out of site. Here, preserving biodiversity is a priority, that is why two toad spawning ponds have been created for amphibians, by preserving the natural habitats of certain species of insects. Local plant species have been planted to turn the solar power plant into a genuine grazing ground, by adapting the fencing to facilitate the passage of small animals.
